Orazio Torrisi
Orazio Torrisi (Catania, 29 November 1930 – Rome, 16 October 2011) was an Italian film and television producer, and the founder of the production company Ares Film. His career, which began in the 1970s, saw him collaborate with important film directors such as Lina Wertmüller and Giuseppe Tornatore, for whom he produced *Il camorrista* (1986), a work that earned him the Globo d'oro award. Starting in the 1990s, his name became synonymous with the great success of television fiction for Mediaset, creating enormously popular series that have left a mark on the collective imagination. His most celebrated productions include *Il bello delle donne*, *Caterina e le sue figlie*, *L'onore e il rispetto*, and *Il peccato e la vergogna*, titles that achieved record ratings and launched the careers of actors like Gabriel Garko and Manuela Arcuri. His work received numerous accolades for its consistent success with audiences and for his role as a central figure in the Italian television entertainment industry.
