**Orson Welles (1915-1985)**, the celebrated American director, screenwriter, and actor, revolutionized cinema with his debut, *Citizen Kane* (1941), in which he played the iconic Charles Foster Kane.

As an actor, Welles was known for his imposing stage presence and deep baritone voice, which lent an aura of grandeur and complexity to his characters. Among his most memorable roles are Harry Lime in *The Third Man* (1949), the corrupt police officer Hank Quinlan in *Touch of Evil* (1958) – a film he also directed – and the unforgettable Falstaff in *Chimes at Midnight* (1965).

His characters were often charismatic but deeply flawed figures, powerful yet tormented, reflecting his artistic greatness and his ability to explore the shadows of the human soul.
