
Patrizia Basso
Patrizia Basso is an Italian archaeologist and academic, a Full Professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Verona, an institution where she has also held leadership positions. Her research activity focuses primarily on Roman architecture, with a particular emphasis on northern Italy and the Veneto region, as well as on Latin epigraphy and the archaeology of entertainment. She is the author of numerous scholarly publications, including key monographs on the Amphitheater of Verona and on Roman sculpture. She has directed and coordinated major archaeological excavations in Italy, such as those in the archaeological park of Grumentum, contributing significantly to the understanding of ancient urban contexts. For her significant scholarly contributions, she is a corresponding member of the Venetian Institute of Science, Letters and Arts and a member of several editorial boards for academic journals and book series in her field, consolidating her position as a leading figure in Roman studies.
