Paul Harvey
Paul Harvey Aurandt, known professionally as Paul Harvey, was an influential American radio broadcaster and one of the most recognizable voices on American radio for over half a century. He spent most of his career with the ABC Radio Network, where he reached a vast national audience. Harvey was celebrated for his unique on-air style, characterized by a distinctive rhythm, deliberate pauses, and iconic catchphrases. His most successful programs included "Paul Harvey News and Comment," which blended news with conservative commentary, and the highly popular segment "The Rest of the Story," in which he narrated the little-known backstories of historical events and figures, often with a surprise ending. For his extraordinary contribution to radio broadcasting and American culture, he received numerous accolades, including several Marconi Radio Awards and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2005, the highest civilian honor in the United States.
