
Paulo Autran
Paulo Paquet Autran (1922-2007) was one of the most important and acclaimed Brazilian actors of the 20th century, nicknamed "O Senhor do Palco" (The Lord of the Stage) for his imposing stage presence and his dedication to the theater. Although trained as a lawyer, he dedicated over sixty years to acting. His theatrical career was marked by memorable performances in plays such as Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman," Shakespeare's "King Lear," and "Liberdade, Liberdade," often in a significant artistic partnership with actress Tônia Carrero. In cinema, he distinguished himself in films such as Glauber Rocha's "Terra em Transe" (1967), a cornerstone of Cinema Novo, and his final appearance was in "O Ano em que Meus Pais Saíram de Férias" (2006). On television, he participated in highly successful telenovelas such as "Guerra dos Sexos" and "Pai Herói." Throughout his illustrious career, he received countless awards, including several Molière Awards, confirming his status as an icon of Brazilian culture.
