Paulo Gracindo, the stage name of Pelópidas Guimarães Brandão Gracindo (Maceió, June 16, 1911 – Rio de Janeiro, September 4, 1995), was one of the most important and versatile Brazilian actors of the 20th century. His career, which began in the 1930s, spanned several media, from radio, where he became a celebrated voice on Rádio Nacional, to theater, participating in the founding of the Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia. In cinema, he worked with prominent directors, appearing in films such as *Terra em Transe* (1967) by Glauber Rocha. However, it was on television that he achieved his greatest popularity, playing unforgettable characters in highly successful telenovelas. Among his most iconic roles are Mayor Odorico Paraguaçu in *O Bem-Amado* (1973), Coronel Ramiro Bastos in *Gabriela* (1975), and Father Hipólito in *Roque Santeiro* (1985). His acting skills earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Prêmio Molière for theater and several APCA (São Paulo Association of Art Critics) awards, consolidating his legacy as a fundamental figure in the performing arts in Brazil.
