
Peter Baldwin
Peter Baldwin (1931-2017) was an American actor and director whose career spanned over six decades. He began as an actor in the 1950s, appearing in notable films such as Billy Wilder's *Stalag 17* and also working in Italy with directors of the caliber of Roberto Rossellini. Beginning in the 1960s, he successfully transitioned to directing, becoming one of the most prolific and respected directors in American television. His filmography includes hundreds of episodes for iconic series that made television history, including *The Dick Van Dyke Show*, *Happy Days*, *Murphy Brown*, and *The Wonder Years*. For his direction on the latter series, he received his most significant recognition, a Primetime Emmy Award, in 1989, cementing his reputation as a key figure in the development of the sitcom and television comedy.
