Péter Breznyik Berg

Péter Breznyik Berg (born in Budapest in 1941) is a Hungarian-born Italian sculptor and painter. He moved to Italy in 1956 and trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he was a student of leading figures such as Marino Marini and Giacomo Manzù. His artistic research, which is predominantly figurative, focuses on the human condition, exploring themes such as memory, pain, and spirituality through bronze sculptures, paintings, and drawings. His figures, often elongated and with tormented surfaces, convey a profound expressive intensity and a sense of introspection. His career has been marked by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including his participation in the Venice Biennale. Among his main accolades, he received the prestigious Feltrinelli Prize for Sculpture from the Accademia dei Lincei in 2007 and is a member of the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, confirming his significant contribution to the contemporary art scene.
