
Peter Coyote
Peter Coyote (born Robert Peter Cohon; October 10, 1941) is an American actor, author, and narrator. Emerging from the San Francisco counterculture of the 1960s, he has built a versatile and long-lasting career. He achieved international recognition for his role as the government agent "Keys" in Steven Spielberg's film *E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial* (1982). His extensive filmography includes collaborations with world-renowned directors, such as in Roman Polanski's *Bitter Moon* (1992) and Pedro Almodóvar's *Kika* (1993), and roles in successful films like *Jagged Edge* (1985) and *Erin Brockovich* (2000). Alongside his acting career, he has established himself as one of the most acclaimed documentary narrators, lending his distinctive voice to numerous productions, particularly those by Ken Burns. For his work as a narrator, he received an Emmy Award in 2015 for the series *The Roosevelts: An Intimate History*. He is also the author of autobiographical works that document his personal and artistic journey.
