
Philippe Laudenbach
Philippe Laudenbach (1936–2024) was a French stage, film, and television actor, known for his long and prolific career. Trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, he debuted on the most prestigious stages, working with directors such as Jean-Louis Barrault and Giorgio Strehler. In film, his face is inextricably linked to the works of Alain Resnais, who directed him in iconic films such as *My American Uncle* (1980) and *Life Is a Bed of Roses* (1983). He also collaborated with other important filmmakers, including François Truffaut in *Vivement dimanche!* (1983) and Bertrand Tavernier. Also active on the small screen, he played dozens of roles in television series and TV films. For his stage work, he received a nomination for the prestigious Molière Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1998 for his performance in *Un chapeau de paille d'Italie*. His versatility and interpretive rigor made him a respected figure in the French artistic landscape.
