Pierre Arditi, born in Paris on December 1, 1944, is one of the most prolific and respected French actors, active in theater, film, and television. His film career is inextricably linked to director Alain Resnais, for whom he played memorable roles in films such as *Mélo* (1986), which earned him the César Award for Best Supporting Actor, and the diptych *Smoking/No Smoking* (1993), for which he received the César for Best Actor. His other collaborations with Resnais include *Parole, parole, parole...* (1997) and *Cuori* (2006). Alongside his work in cinema, he has maintained a constant and acclaimed presence on the stage, becoming a key interpreter for playwrights such as Yasmina Reza. Also known for his deep, modulated voice, he has worked extensively as a voice actor and narrator, establishing himself as a central figure in the French cultural scene.
