
Pierre Curzi
Pierre Curzi is a Canadian actor, trade unionist, and politician from Québec, known for his versatile career. He began his career in theater, co-founding the Théâtre Parminou company in 1973, before gaining prominence in cinema. His performance in Denys Arcand's film *The Decline of the American Empire* (1986) earned him a Genie Award for Best Actor, a role he reprised in the Oscar-winning sequel *The Barbarian Invasions* (2003). His other significant works include *Pouvoir intime* (1986) and the popular film series *Les Boys*. In addition to acting, Curzi held an important public role as president of the Union des artistes from 1997 to 2005. Subsequently, he entered politics and was elected to the National Assembly of Quebec for the Parti Québécois, where he served as a Member of the National Assembly from 2007 to 2012, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in Québec culture and society.
