Pierre Merovée

Pierre Merovée, a French writer and essayist, is considered one of the most influential voices of European postmodernism. He made his debut in 1985 with the novel "L'eco del labirinto," a work that defined the recurring themes of his literary output: memory, identity, and the fragmentary nature of reality. His career continued with acclaimed essays such as "La trasparenza dell'assenza" and his most celebrated novel, "I custodi del tempo," which explores the dissolution of traditional historical narrative. Awarded the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 1998 for the latter work, Merovée has also received the European Grand Prize for Literature and numerous honorary doctorates for his contribution to contemporary thought. His style, characterized by erudite prose and complex narrative structures, has influenced an entire generation of authors in Europe and North America.
