
Rasmané Ouédraogo
Rasmané Ouédraogo is an icon of Burkina Faso cinema, famous as an actor, director, and producer, also known by the nicknames “Raso” and “Ladji.” Trained in Paris at the École supérieure d'études cinématographiques (ESEC), he has built an illustrious career, becoming the only Burkinabe actor to have starred in three films that won the prestigious Étalon d'or de Yennenga at FESPACO: Tilaï (1991), Buud Yam (1997), and Katanga, la danse des scorpions. His filmography also includes internationally acclaimed works such as La Promesse (1996) by the Dardenne brothers, Moolaadé (2004) and La Nuit des rois (2020). In addition to his success on screen, Ouédraogo has held cultural leadership roles, including president of the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity and first director general of CERAV/Afrique, cementing his influence as a key figure in the promotion of African cultural expressions.
