Reed Hadley, born Reed Herring (Houston, June 25, 1911 – Los Angeles, December 11, 1974), was an American actor and voice actor, known for his deep, authoritative voice. He began his career in radio, becoming the first to portray the character of Red Ryder in 1942. In film, he specialized in roles as authority figures, often in film noir and police docudramas such as *The House on 92nd Street* (1945) and *T-Men* (1947). His voice became iconic as a narrator in films like *He Walked by Night* (1948), and he played the lead role in the serial *Zorro's Fighting Legion* (1939). On television, he solidified his image as a man of the law by hosting the documentary-style series *Racket Squad* and *The Public Defender* in the 1950s, which made him a familiar face to American audiences. For his contribution to the television industry, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
