Régis Debray is a French philosopher, writer, and intellectual. Initially known for his Third-Worldist commitment and his close association with Che Guevara in Bolivia, he theorized the strategy of "foco theory" in his essay *Revolution in the Revolution?* (1967). His experience in South America ended with his capture and a long imprisonment. Upon returning to France, his career took a new direction, becoming an advisor to President François Mitterrand in the 1980s. Subsequently, his thought evolved towards the development of "mediology," a discipline that analyzes cultural transmission through techniques and material supports. A prolific author, his numerous works include *Critique of Political Reason* (1981) and the volumes dedicated to his mediological studies. For his literary and intellectual contribution, in 2011 he was elected a member of the Académie Goncourt, one of the most prestigious French cultural institutions.
