Renato Burrini
Renato Burrini, born in Siena, is an Italian composer, conductor, and mandolin virtuoso. A graduate of the "Luigi Cherubini" Conservatory of Florence, he has dedicated his career to promoting the repertoire for plectrum instruments. He is internationally known as the founder and conductor of the Sienese Plectrum Orchestra "Alberto Bocci," an ensemble with which he has performed concerts worldwide and made numerous recordings. His artistic activity includes prestigious collaborations with renowned composers such as Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota, for whom he has performed soundtracks. As a composer, he has enriched the musical literature for mandolin and plectrum orchestra with original works and transcriptions. He combines his concert career with teaching as a professor at the "Rinaldo Franci" Higher Institute of Musical Studies in Siena. For his merits, he has been awarded the highest honors, including the Mangia d'oro of his city and the title of Knight of the Italian Republic.
