
René Lefèvre
René Lefèvre (Nice, March 6, 1898 – Poissy, May 23, 1991) was a French actor, screenwriter, and writer. He began his career in silent cinema but rose to fame with the advent of sound, becoming a well-known face of French cinema in the 1930s thanks to his leading role in René Clair's film *Le Million* (1931). His career was marked by significant collaborations, notably with Jean Renoir on *Le Crime de Monsieur Lange* (1936), a film he also co-wrote. He also worked with directors such as Sacha Guitry and continued his acting career for over six decades, playing numerous roles, often as a character actor, until the 1980s. Alongside his film career, he dedicated himself to writing, publishing novels and memoirs, including *Le film de ma vie*. For his contribution to French cinema, he received an Honorary César Award in 1983.
