Rex Robbins
Rex Robbins (Pierre, March 30, 1935 – St. Louis, September 23, 2003) was an American actor, known primarily for his prolific stage career on Broadway. His performance in the play *The Changing Room* (1973) earned him a Drama Desk Award. The following year, he received the most prestigious recognition of his career, a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for the role of Herbie in the acclaimed revival of *Gypsy*, opposite Angela Lansbury. In addition to the stage, Robbins was an active character actor in film and television. His film roles include *1776* (1972), *The Secret of My Success* (1987), and notably, the part of Margot Tenenbaum's adoptive father in Wes Anderson's film *The Royal Tenenbaums* (2001). His solid stage presence and versatility made him a recurring face in American theater and screen for over three decades.
