
Richard Erdman
Richard Erdman (1925-2019) was an American actor and director whose career spanned nearly 75 years, from the Golden Age of Hollywood to modern television. He began as a character actor for Warner Bros. in the 1940s, soon gaining recognition for supporting roles. Among his most memorable film performances is his portrayal of Sergeant Hoffy in Billy Wilder's classic "Stalag 17" (1953). His prolific television career includes appearances in dozens of series, including an iconic role in "The Twilight Zone" episode "A Kind of a Stopwatch." Parallel to his acting, he also pursued directing, working on episodes of shows such as "The Dick Van Dyke Show." In his later years, he reached a new generation of audience playing the recurring character of Leonard Rodriguez in the comedy series "Community" (2009-2015), one of his final and most beloved roles.
