
Richard Venture
Richard Venture (New York, November 12, 1923 – Chester, December 19, 2017) was an American character actor. His career, spanning over four decades, was marked by prolific work in both film and television, where he was known for his ability to portray authority figures such as police officers, military personnel, doctors, and businessmen. Among his most significant film roles are his appearances in critically acclaimed films such as *All the President's Men* (1976), *Being There* (1979), and *Missing* (1982). One of his most recognizable performances is his role as W.R. Slade, the brother of the protagonist played by Al Pacino, in *Scent of a Woman* (1992). On television, his most notable role was that of Commander Norman Tuttle in the action series *Street Hawk* (1985). Venture also made dozens of appearances in popular series, including *Star Trek: The Next Generation*, *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine*, *Law & Order*, and *Seinfeld*, cementing his reputation as a solid and reliable supporting actor.
