Richard "Rick" Ducommun (Prince Albert, July 3, 1952 – Vancouver, June 12, 2015) was a Canadian actor, comedian, and screenwriter. He is best known for his role as Art Weingartner, the nosy and paranoid neighbor, in the 1989 cult comedy *The 'Burbs*, alongside Tom Hanks. His film career includes appearances in numerous movies, often in comedic supporting roles, such as *Spaceballs*, *Groundhog Day*, *The Last Boy Scout*, and *Scary Movie*. In addition to film, Ducommun had a solid career as a stand-up comedian, starring in the HBO special *Rick Ducommun: Hit and Run*, which earned him a CableACE Award nomination. Often cast in supporting roles, he was valued for his imposing physical presence and his ability to portray eccentric and over-the-top characters, becoming a familiar face in comedies of the late 1980s and 1990s.
