
Rob Reiner
Rob Reiner (New York, March 20, 1947) is an American director, actor, producer, and screenwriter. He rose to fame in the 1970s for his role as Michael "Meathead" Stivic in the sitcom *All in the Family*, a performance that earned him two Emmy Awards. He made his directorial debut with the cult mockumentary *This Is Spinal Tap* (1984), launching a career characterized by great versatility and both critical and commercial success. His most significant works include the coming-of-age film *Stand by Me* (1986), the iconic romantic comedy *When Harry Met Sally...* (1989), the psychological thriller *Misery* (1990), and the legal drama *A Few Good Men* (1992). The latter earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. A co-founder of the production company Castle Rock Entertainment, Reiner has received numerous Golden Globe and Directors Guild of America Award nominations for his directorial work throughout his career.
