
Robert Hommet
Robert Hommet (1926-2006) was a French illustrator and comic book artist, a prominent figure in Franco-Belgian comics of the post-World War II era. His career is inextricably linked to the magazine *Vaillant*, in which he created his most famous work, the Western series *Loup Noir* (Black Wolf). Created in 1969, the Native American hero character became an icon for young readers, thanks to Hommet's realistic and dynamic art style. His body of work also includes important adaptations, such as that of *Robin des Bois* (Robin Hood), and numerous other stories in the adventure and historical genres. Although he did not receive any specific major awards, his work is widely celebrated for its graphic rigor and narrative skill. He is considered one of the masters of realistic adventure comics, whose precise style has influenced generations of artists and readers, solidifying his status as a key author in the European publishing scene.
