Rod La Rocque, born Roderick Ross La Rocque (Chicago, November 29, 1898 – Beverly Hills, October 15, 1969), was an American actor. He began his career in theater and vaudeville, rising to fame during the silent film era. He became one of director Cecil B. DeMille's leading actors, and his performance in the epic film *The Ten Commandments* (1923) cemented his star status. With a voice well-suited for the new medium, he successfully transitioned to sound films, continuing to play leading and supporting roles in numerous films throughout the 1930s, albeit less frequently. His filmography includes over one hundred titles, among them *Gigolo* (1926) and *The Man Who Saw Tomorrow* (1944). He was married to actress Vilma Bánky, and together they became one of Hollywood's most celebrated couples. For his contribution to the motion picture industry, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
