Rolando Hernández

Rolando Hernández, also known as Rolando "El Que Te Toca" Hernández, was an influential Cuban musician, singer, and guitarist, best known for his long tenure with the legendary Trío Matamoros. Joining the group in the 1930s as the second voice and guitarist, his style was instrumental in defining the unmistakable vocal harmony and sound that made the trio internationally famous. His contribution was fundamental to the interpretation of timeless son cubano classics such as "Lágrimas Negras," "Son de la Loma," and "El que siembra su maíz." After the trio's official disbandment in 1960, Hernández continued his musical career, collaborating with other artists and preserving the traditional repertoire. Although he did not receive many individual accolades, his role is universally recognized as essential to the success of Trío Matamoros, and he is considered one of the most important interpreters of the *segunda voz* in the history of Cuban music, securing him a prominent place in the pantheon of Latin music.
