Rosa Costanzo
Rosa Costanzo, born in Catania in 1953, is an Italian artist, painter, and sculptor. Her artistic research began in the 1980s, positioning itself within the context of the return to figurative painting that characterized the art scene of that decade. Her painting is distinguished by an expressive and visionary language, featuring intense chromaticism and energetic brushwork. Central to her works are archetypal and mythological figures, reinterpreted through a contemporary sensibility and deep psychological exploration. Her artistic output also includes sculptures, often created in terracotta or bronze, which extend her exploration of form and myth into three-dimensional space. Throughout her career, she has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. A significant moment in her career was her participation in the 1986 Venice Biennale, in the "Aperto" section, which established her presence on the international stage. Her works are held in major public and private collections.
