
Rossana Rory
Rossana Rory, stage name of Rossana Guglielmi (Rome, September 7, 1927 – Rome, April 1, 2020), was an Italian actress primarily active between the 1950s and 1960s. She began her career in the post-war period, dividing her time between Italian productions and a significant stint in Hollywood. In the United States, she acted in notable films such as Ida Lupino's *The Bigamist* (1953) and *Hell on Frisco Bay* (1956), alongside Alan Ladd and Edward G. Robinson. For her performance in the latter, she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Female Newcomer. Returning to work primarily in Italy, her filmography includes titles such as the war film *El Alamein* (1957) and the drama *I bellissimi stati d'animo* (1957). Among her final significant appearances was her role in Carmelo Bene's experimental film *Capriccio* (1968), before her retirement from acting in the early 1970s, having demonstrated versatility in different genres.
