Roy Chiao Hung (Shanghai, March 16, 1927 – Seattle, April 15, 1999) was a Hong Kong actor. With a career spanning over fifty years and including more than three hundred films, he is internationally known for his roles in Hollywood productions, including the antagonist Lao Che in *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom* (1984), the Shaolin abbot in *Enter the Dragon* (1973) alongside Bruce Lee, and master Senzo Tanaka in *Bloodsport* (1988). His versatility also allowed him to excel in Hong Kong cinema, as demonstrated by his acclaimed performance in the film *Summer Snow* (1995). For this role, he received top industry honors, winning the Best Actor award at both the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Golden Horse Awards. Fluent in English, Chiao was one of the most recognizable Asian actors of his generation, able to move with ease between Eastern and Western cinema.
