
Roy Kinnear
Roy Kinnear (1934-1988) was a British character actor, known for his screen presence and his versatile, often comedic, roles. He rose to prominence in the 1960s on the satirical television show "That Was The Week That Was". His film career is particularly associated with director Richard Lester, for whom he played the faithful Planchet in the Musketeers saga ("The Three Musketeers", "The Four Musketeers") and appeared in "Help!" (1965) with the Beatles. Among his most iconic roles is that of Henry Salt, Veruca's father, in "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" (1971). His acting ability earned him a BAFTA award for Best Actor in 1968 for a television production. Kinnear tragically died in 1988 during the filming of "The Return of the Musketeers" following a fall from a horse, an event that deeply affected the film industry.
