Sadia Faiz

Sadia Faiz is an Italian writer of Pakistani origin, considered one of the most representative voices of migration literature in Italy. She made her debut in 1990 with the autobiographical novel *La straniera*, published by Giunti, which chronicles the difficulties of a young Pakistani woman integrating into Italian society. The work received immediate critical acclaim, winning prestigious awards such as the Premio Comisso in the 'First Work' category. In her writings, Faiz explores themes of uprooted identity, the encounter between cultures, the female condition, and the challenges of immigration with an understated and direct style. Her literary output also includes later works such as *Lontano da Mogadiscio* (1994), in which she addresses the theme of the Somali Civil War, and *Amore e sale* (2006), consolidating her role in the contemporary literary landscape. Her contribution has been fundamental in giving a voice to the experiences of new citizens, enriching the Italian cultural debate.
