Salim Namour

Salim Namour is a Lebanese-born Italian writer, poet, and translator. He was born in Lebanon in 1947 and moved to Italy in the 1970s. His literary work, written in both Arabic and Italian, is distinguished by its role as a bridge between Mediterranean cultures, exploring themes of exile, uprooted identity, and intercultural dialogue. His most significant works include the poetry collection *Forse un altro mare* and the novel *Il traduttore di sogni*, which reflect his experience as a migrant intellectual. He is also highly active as a translator, preparing Arabic versions of important contemporary Italian poets and bringing voices of Arab literature to Italy. For his contribution to literature and cultural mediation, he has received several awards, including the Feudo di Maida Prize for Poetry. He is considered one of the most representative figures of what is known as Italian-language migration literature, contributing decisively to its development and critical recognition.
