Sally Thomsett
Sally Thomsett is a British actress, born in 1950, known for her roles in film and television during the 1970s. She began her career as a child but achieved international fame in 1970 with the role of Phyllis Waterbury in the classic film *The Railway Children*, playing an eleven-year-old girl despite being twenty at the time. The following year, she appeared in Sam Peckinpah's controversial film *Straw Dogs*. Her success continued on television, where she became widely popular for her role as Jo in the hit sitcom *Man About the House*, which aired from 1973 to 1976, and in its film adaptation. Although she did not receive major awards, her popularity and the critical and commercial success of her major works solidified her status as an icon of the era. After reaching the peak of her popularity, Thomsett largely retired from acting in the late 1970s to focus on her family, returning to acting only occasionally.
