Serge Korber, born in Paris on February 1, 1936, and died there on January 23, 2022, was a French film director, screenwriter, and producer. His career took off in the 1960s, establishing him as a specialist in popular comedy. He is best known for his fruitful collaboration with actor Louis de Funès, whom he directed in highly successful films such as *L'uomo orchestra* (1970) and *Aggrappato ad un albero* (1971). Throughout his career, he also worked with other great actors of French cinema, including Annie Girardot and Jean-Louis Trintignant. In the mid-1970s, he had a brief foray into adult film, directing several movies under the pseudonym John Thomas. Subsequently, his work focused mainly on directing television productions and documentaries. Although he did not receive major official awards, his work remains a significant example of 1970s French comedy, appreciated for its pacing and comedic effectiveness.
