Serge Larivière is a Canadian biologist and researcher specializing in mammalogy, with a particular focus on the ecology, behavior, and management of carnivores, particularly canids and mustelids. Affiliated with the Université du Québec à Rimouski, he has dedicated his career to the study of the natural history of these species. He is the author of hundreds of scientific articles and numerous monographs for the prestigious series *Mammalian Species*. His most notable works include the reference volumes *The Biology and Conservation of Wild Canids* and *The Biology and Conservation of Wild Mustelids*, which synthesize the scientific knowledge on these animal groups.
