
Serge Larivière
Serge Larivière is a Canadian biologist and researcher specializing in mammalogy, with a particular focus on the ecology, behavior, and management of carnivores, particularly canids and mustelids. Affiliated with the Université du Québec à Rimouski, he has dedicated his career to the study of the natural history of these species. He is the author of hundreds of scientific articles and numerous monographs for the prestigious series *Mammalian Species*. His most notable works include the reference volumes *The Biology and Conservation of Wild Canids* and *The Biology and Conservation of Wild Mustelids*, which synthesize the scientific knowledge on these animal groups. For his significant contribution to research, in 2011 he was awarded the C. Hart Merriam Award by the American Society of Mammalogists, one of the highest honors in the field of mammalogy.
