
Shiho Niiyama
Shiho Niiyama (新山 志保, March 21, 1970 – February 7, 2000) was a Japanese voice actress and singer, primarily active in the 1990s. Affiliated with the agency Aoni Production, she was known for her versatile voice, which allowed her to portray a wide range of characters. Her career peaked with iconic roles such as Seiya Kou / Sailor Star Fighter in the final season of "Sailor Moon," Deedlit in the TV series "Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight," Suou Takamura in "Clamp School Detectives," and Risa Kanzaki in "Gokinjo Monogatari." She also lent her voice to animated films such as "Perfect Blue" and numerous video games. In 1998, she was diagnosed with leukemia but continued to work as long as her condition allowed. Her promising career was tragically cut short by her premature death at the age of 29. Despite her short career, she is still remembered for the impact of her characters and her remarkable talent, which have secured her a lasting legacy in the world of Japanese animation.
