Sig Arno, the stage name of Siegfried Aron (Hamburg, 1895 – Woodland Hills, 1975), was a German actor. He began his career in Hamburg and later became a prominent figure in the Berlin theatre and cabaret scene during the Weimar Republic, collaborating with directors such as Max Reinhardt. Of Jewish descent, he was forced to flee Nazi Germany in 1933, eventually settling in Hollywood. There, he became a well-regarded character actor, specializing in comedic roles as eccentric European characters. His extensive filmography includes appearances in classics such as Charlie Chaplin's *The Great Dictator* (1940), Ernst Lubitsch's *To Be or Not to Be* (1942), and Preston Sturges' *The Palm Beach Story* (1942). After the war, he continued to work in both the United States and German productions. For his outstanding contribution to German cinema, in 1966 he received the Filmband in Gold, the highest honor of the Deutscher Filmpreis (German Film Awards).
