Soledad Villamil, born in La Plata in 1969, is a highly versatile Argentine actress and singer. Her career took off in the 1990s, as she distinguished herself in television productions such as *Vulnerables* and successful films like *El mismo amor, la misma lluvia* (1999). International acclaim came in 2009 with her role as Irene Menéndez Hastings in Juan José Campanella's film *The Secret in Their Eyes*, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. For this performance, she received the Goya Award for Best New Actress and the Sur Award for Best Actress, solidifying her global reputation.
