Sow Hirosawa is a Japanese writer born in 1993. He made his debut on the literary scene with the novel "Warera wa Shinju." However, he rose to international prominence with his second work, "Idoru Moe" (Idol, Burning), published in 2023. The novel, which explores the intense psychological and media pressures faced by a young idol after a scandal, received significant critical acclaim. For this work, Hirosawa was awarded the 169th Akutagawa Prize, one of Japan's most prestigious literary awards, sharing the prize with Rie Qudan. His writing is characterized by a sharp and realistic analysis of contemporary social dynamics, with a particular focus on youth culture and the Japanese entertainment world.
