Stanley Fields (born Walter L. Agnew; May 20, 1883 – April 23, 1941) was an American character actor. Active primarily in the 1930s, he specialized in "tough guy" roles, often playing gangsters, criminals, and rugged characters, thanks to his imposing screen presence. His prolific filmography includes appearances in iconic films such as *Little Caesar* (1931), in the role of rival mob boss Sam Vettori, and in award-winning works like *Cimarron* (1931). He demonstrated considerable versatility by also appearing in celebrated comedies, including *Way Out West* (1937) with Laurel and Hardy.
