
Stephen Furst
Stephen Furst, born Stephen Nelson Feuerstein (Norfolk, May 8, 1954 – Moorpark, June 16, 2017), was an American actor, director, and producer. His career took off with his iconic role as Kent "Flounder" Dorfman in the hit comedy *Animal House* (1978). He later cemented his fame by playing Dr. Elliot Axelrod in the drama series *St. Elsewhere* from 1983 to 1988, a role that brought him significant television visibility. Another pivotal role in his career was Vir Cotto, the naive and loyal diplomatic aide in the science fiction series *Babylon 5* (1994–1998), for which he also directed several episodes. His work as a director also extended to television films and independent productions. He also worked as a voice actor on animated projects. Although he did not win major awards, Furst remained a beloved figure to audiences, recognized for his ability to portray vulnerable and deeply human characters.
