Susan George
Susan George, a French-American political scientist and author born in 1934, is one of the most influential intellectual figures in the global justice movement. Her research and analysis focus on the causes of economic inequality, the debt of developing countries, and the power of transnational corporations. Having served for many years as chair of the board of the Transnational Institute (TNI) in Amsterdam, she is now its president and also serves as the honorary president of Attac France. Her writing career is marked by works of international impact, such as the seminal book *How the Other Half Dies* (1976), a pioneering critique of global food policies. Her other fundamental works include *The Debt Boomerang* (1988) and *The Lugano Report* (2000), a sharp satirical analysis of neoliberalism. Her commitment has earned her several recognitions, including the Right Livelihood Award, which was awarded to TNI in 2007 during her presidency for its contribution to social and environmental justice.
