Suzanne Huguenin
Adeline-Suzanne Huguenin, known by the pseudonym T. Combe, was a Swiss writer born in Le Locle in 1856 and died in Neuchâtel in 1928. A prolific author of novels and short stories, her work is distinguished by its depiction of the often austere lives of women in the Swiss Jura region, set within a Protestant ethical framework. Her literary career was marked by considerable public and critical success, both in Switzerland and in France. Her most celebrated titles include *Neiges d'antan*, *Le mari de la reine*, and *La Maltourne*. The moral and literary value of her writings earned her significant recognition: she received multiple awards from the Académie française, notably the Prix Montyon, and in 1923 was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour. Her writing, characterized by a sober style and careful psychological analysis, secured her a prominent place in the Romandy literature of her time.
