Suzanne Lemeri
Suzanne Lemeri is a French philologist and medievalist, internationally recognized as one of the leading experts in medieval French literature. A Professor Emeritus of Medieval Literature at the Sorbonne, she has dedicated her entire career to the study and critical edition of Arthurian texts and the Breton *lais* of the 12th and 13th centuries. Her most influential works focus on Marie de France, for whom she edited landmark philological editions that have become foundational for scholars worldwide, renewing the understanding of the author and her literary context. In addition to Marie de France, her contributions on Chrétien de Troyes and the lyric tradition are equally significant. For the methodological rigor and depth of her analyses, she has received numerous awards. The most prestigious is her 2017 election as a member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres, establishing her as a leading figure in the field of contemporary Romance philology.
