Swoosie Kurtz, born on September 6, 1944, in Omaha, Nebraska, is an American actress whose career spans theater, film, and television. Particularly acclaimed for her stage work, she has won two Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play: the first in 1981 for *Fifth of July* and the second in 1986 for *The House of Blue Leaves*. Her versatility has also led her to portray memorable roles on the small screen. She is known for her performances in the television series *Sisters* (1991-1996), *Pushing Daisies* (2007-2009), and *Mike & Molly* (2010-2016).
