Tatsuya Mihashi

Tatsuya Mihashi (Tokyo, November 2, 1923 – May 15, 2004) was a prolific Japanese actor whose career spanned over five decades. Known for his versatility, he appeared in over 150 film and television roles, becoming a familiar face to Japanese audiences. Internationally, he is best remembered for his collaborations with director Akira Kurosawa in critically acclaimed films such as *The Bad Sleep Well* (1960) and *High and Low* (1963). He also played a significant role in the American war film *Tora! Tora! Tora!* (1970), portraying Commander Minoru Genda. Also very active on the small screen, he achieved great popularity with detective series such as *Key Hunter*. For his outstanding contribution to the arts, the Japanese government awarded him prestigious honors, including the Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon in 1988 and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, in 1994.
