
Terumi Niki
Terumi Niki (二木 てるみ; Tokyo, May 11, 1949) is a Japanese actress and voice actress. She began her acting career as a child, gaining international recognition at the age of sixteen for her intense performance as Otoyo in Akira Kurosawa's 1965 masterpiece *Red Beard* (Akahige). This performance earned her the prestigious Blue Ribbon Award for Best Supporting Actress, establishing her as one of the most promising young talents in Japanese cinema. Throughout her long career, she has continued to work steadily in both film and television, appearing in numerous productions. She is also highly regarded as a voice actress (seiyū), lending her voice to iconic characters such as Tae Okajima in the acclaimed 1991 Studio Ghibli animated film *Only Yesterday* (Omohide Poro Poro).
