Timothy Alan Dick, known professionally as Tim Allen, is an American actor and comedian whose career began as a stand-up comedian. He achieved international fame in the 1990s with the sitcom *Home Improvement*, starring as Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor, for which he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in 1995 and received numerous Emmy nominations.
