Martina Michèle Weymouth, known as Tina Weymouth, is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. She is best known as the co-founder and bassist of the new wave band Talking Heads. Her melodic, funk-influenced bass style was a key element of the band's distinctive sound, helping to define its rhythmic and danceable approach on iconic albums such as *Remain in Light*. Together with her husband and Talking Heads drummer, Chris Frantz, she formed the side project Tom Tom Club, which achieved considerable commercial success with singles like "Wordy Rappinghood" and "Genius of Love," the latter of which has been widely sampled in hip hop and pop music. The couple also worked as producers for other artists, including the Happy Mondays. In 2002, Tina Weymouth was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Talking Heads, in recognition of her influential contribution to modern music.
