Tony Lo Bianco

Tony Lo Bianco (1936-2024) was an American actor and director of Italian descent, known for his intense portrayals of tough characters, often associated with the world of crime or law enforcement. His film career took off in the 1970s with memorable roles such as Sal Boca in *The French Connection* (1971) and Ray Fernandez in *The Honeymoon Killers* (1970). He also appeared in major productions such as Franco Zeffirelli's *Jesus of Nazareth* (1977) and *F.I.S.T.* (1978). Concurrently, Lo Bianco had an illustrious stage career on Broadway and Off-Broadway. For his acclaimed performance as Eddie Carbone in Arthur Miller's *A View from the Bridge*, he earned a Tony Award nomination and won an Obie Award. He also became known for his one-man show, *The Little Flower*, in which he portrayed New York City Mayor Fiorello La Guardia. On television, he received an Emmy Award nomination for his appearance in the series *Police Story*.
